As she prepares for the Olympics in Paris, PV Sindhu has spared no detail. The shuttler, who has won two Olympic medals, talked about her training regimen from her time at Sportcampus Saar in Saarbrucken, Germany. There, she competed against two opponents at a time and sparred with a variety of competitors.
"With every opponent, it's a different style and, you need to play the right stroke at the right time. And that's what Prakash sir also keeps saying. We've been working on that. And that's almost there. There's a lot of improvement. You will see that on court.
"Saarbrücken training was really good. I was there for almost a couple of weeks and I got my own sparring partners as well. I got an opportunity to train with different people. One was like a left-hander and one was an attacking player, a rally player. And I had a Nigerian guy, who also was sparring with me. And one was a German singles player who was also playing with me for a couple of days," PV Sindhu said after a training session at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena.

The Paris Olympics will be crucial for the ace Indian shuttler as she will aim for the number three medal. An Indian athlete has not won three consecutive Olympic medals, and a podium finish would solidify Sindhu's status as India's best sportsperson. Despite her inconsistent recent performance, she believes that she has the drive to win a hat-trick of medals as she devoted eight months under Prakash Padukone's tutelage.
The Indian contingent will look to improve their medal tally from the previous games and this year's contingent has been heavily promising, which could lead to some jaw-dropping performances.
